UNC Health KidsCAN! Facilitator, Laurel Engel spoke with Spectrum News about the important role KidCAN! plays in the lives of families walking through a parent or guardian’s cancer diagnosis, and why this program means so much to her and her family.
On April 30th Laurel will be the keynote speaker for Raleigh’s PurpleStride event held on NC State’s Centennial Campus. Laurel, lost her father to pancreatic cancer when she was younger. That experience, and the role KidsCAN! played in her own experience, helped spark Laurel to pursue a career where she can give back to kids who are going through a similar experience to the one she went through.
