Recently the Holt Brothers Foundation welcomed the newest addition to our team, Shannon Kearney. Shannon is from Chicago, IL where she grew up Irish dancing and learning to swim with her three older brothers. She moved to Raleigh in 2018 to continue swimming for the Wolfpack and later became a two-time captain of the team. After graduation this past May, she pursued her biggest Irish dancing dreams and was hired by the Trinity Irish Dance Company to be a professional dancer and tour internationally.
Shannon studied Psychology at North Carolina State University where she excelled academically and made the Dean’s list numerous times. In addition to her academic success, she became the President of the Student Athlete Advisory Committee by her senior year. In this role she led professional development initiatives, community service opportunities and had a heavy focus on supporting the mental health of her fellow student athletes.
Since graduation, Shannon spent time traveling across Europe and spent the later half of her summer auditioning for professional dancer companies. Now that she has settled back in Raleigh we are excited to welcome her to the team. Her enthusiasm for the work and experience at North Carolina State University makes her a welcome addition to the Holt Brothers team!
