Meet Amelia “Mimi” Pare, one of our KidsCAN! Alumni Scholarship recipients. Mimi feels extremely grateful for her time participating in KidsCAN! programs. Amid the pandemic, an already trying time for her personally, Mimi’s mother was diagnosed with cancer. With the support of KidsCAN! she was able to stay present, connect with her sisters, and see that she was not alone. The sense of community, age-appropriate cancer education, and peer support was invaluable to her.
Now headed off to study mechanical engineering at a Combined Engineering Dual-Degree Program, Mimi is excited to see what the future holds. She has always had a passion for physics, especially that of watercraft as she was captain of her high school sailing team. With such enthusiasm for the field, we are certain she will shine. We are happy to support Mimi in her next adventure and cannot wait to see all she achieves in the world of STEM!
