Meet Andrew, one of our KidsCAN! Alumni Scholarship recipients! He participated in our KidsCAN! program in his youth and feels very grateful for the support he received and continues to receive from the Foundation. When he was just eight years old his mother was diagnosed with cancer. He remembers being too young to understand what was happening, but with the support of the KidsCAN! facilitators he was able to grasp reality. Andrew also participated in Camp Kesem for three summers and remembers it to be one of his favorite childhood memories.
Andrew is a standout student who is headed into his second year at UNC Charlotte. He formed, plays on and is the captain of the UNCC intramural soccer team in addition to exploring his different interests academically. Leaning towards majoring in accounting, we are sure that whatever path he chooses will be one that he will thrive in. We are happily supporting Andrew in his educational journey at the University of North Carolina Charlotte.
