Capital City Jack & Jill hosts book drive

This fall middle school Innovators from the Capital City Jack and Jill organization raised money to purchase 250+ copies of “A Kids Book About Cancer.”  These books will be donated to each of our KidsCAN! site locations and be provided to families as they join a KidsCAN! program. In total these students raised $5,000.

This book by Dr. Kelsie Storm & Sarah Porter offers a basic understanding of what cancer really is and aims to make it easier to talk about for kids and grownups who may have someone in their life with cancer, and is the perfect pairing with our KidsCAN! curriculum.

Jack and Jill of America, Incorporated is an organization of mothers dedicated to raising the next generation of African American leaders while enhancing the lives of all children. They work to accomplish their mission through diverse programs focused on leadership development, cultural exposure, community service, legislative advocacy and philanthropic. We are so proud of these Innovators and the immense impact they will help us make in the lives of our KidsCAN! families.
